Your Page Content

The content of any webpage is contained inside these two tags:

<body>Your Page Content</body>

This will include everything from your navigation links to the actual paragraphs of written content that make up the main part of any webpage.

As part of your search engine optimization strategy there are certain things that you want to achieve in your page content.

1. Keyword Density
Keyword density is the percentage value that each keyword or keyword phrase appears on a webpage. Search engines use this information to categorize a site's theme and to determine which search terms a particular site is relevant to. If your target keyword denisty is too low you may not get the search engine rankings you want while if it's too high your page may be flagged for keyword-spamming. To analyze the keyword denisty of any webpage enter its address into this keyword denisty tool.

2. Keyword Placement
To convince the search engines of the relevancy of a particular page to a particular keyword phrase you should include your target keywords at the very top and very bottom of your page. The H1 header tag is often used for the top of the page although another popular tactic is to place a text line above your main banner. At the bottom of your page you can either finish off your article content with your target keywords included or alternatively place those keywords after the last words inside your </body> tag. This will normally be after the additional page links like | contact | about | site map | below.

3. Stressing Your Target Keywords To The Search Engines
As well as using Header Tags to stress your target keywords you should also bold and italicize your target keywords once in your main body of content to highlight that they are what that page is about.

4. Word Stemming
As well as using.

3. Use Of Synonyms
A body of content to highlight that they are what that page is about.

Having completed steps 1 to 6 you've finished your onpage optimization and are ready to look outside of your website and at the other and more important half of search engine optimization - offpage optimization.
