As
search engines cannot
read images, Alt Tags
are used as a way of
giving more information
to the search engines
about them. Its a great
way to include your
primary and secondary
keywords in another
place onpage but you
should not get carried
away as the over zealous
use of keywords may
mean you are flagged
for keyword-spamming.
The
image below is an
example of how we
use the Alt Tag on
our main banner image:
Hover your mouse over
it to see how this
works.
By
using the Alt Tag
'SEO Help Image' on
our banner, the search
engines will see it
as having some more
value.
If
you have more images
on your page then
use your secondary
keywords in their
Alt Tags but change
the variations of
what you call them,
ie: Organic SEO Image,
Search Engine Optimization
Graphic etc..
Here
is how you can add
an Alt Tag to your
image. Remember to
include image, graphic
or logo after the
keyword so as to not
be penalized.
